Work Together

Guardian Home Program

This is a brief explanation, and I will share more details soon as I need to come up with detailed writing.

Hi, it's Liz!

We're looking for ways to boost our breeding program and add new blood, but our space is limited as we don't rehome our retired breeders to make space. It just doesn't work for us. Instead, we decided to try the Guardian Home program. We believe cats should be beloved pets first, and only then breeding cats. They should be able to sleep on the sofas, watch TV with us, and maybe even sneak some treats from the kitchen!

As a guardian, you'd provide a loving, permanent home for one of our breeding cats while they're in our program. It may be a kitten we bred ourselves or a kitten we bought to bring new blood. Once retired, the cat is yours forever. You'll receive a top-quality cat selected to remain in our program.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Homes in Central Florida or around Los Angeles, California.
  • (for female cats) Preferably, no small children, as the separation during the cat's birthing and kitten-raising period can cause trauma for the children who may miss the cat during this time.
  • Sorry, this is only if you are not interested in becoming a breeder yourself. This program is not a mentorship or a way to start your own cattery.
  • Able to bring the cat to us and pick it up within 24-36 hours' notice.
  • The cat must be an indoor pet, never allowed outside.
  • Be prepared for a home visit and provide references.
  • Keep the cat safe indoors (screened patios and windows).
  • You're responsible for routine vet expenses. We cover health testing and breeding-related vet expenses while the cat is in our program.
  • Feed our recommended raw diet.
  • No plans to move within the next 3 years.
  • Willing to communicate and cooperate with us.

This is just a brief overview. If you're interested, please contact to me at info@simba-iceberg.com to see if we match 🙂
